went in with absolutely zero expectations but the opening music with la nueva ola de cumbia was fun and the matches themselves were decent, with the semi-main being the mest imo. the event took place in the sculpture garden courtyard which was really lovely, and the lighting especially at night was perfect, just a soft warm glow that was flattering to everyone, also really lovely to have the sun set as the event went on. there were fre photo meet & greets between the matches which was also very fun even if it wasn’t the pacing I was expecting, and overall it felt really nice to have my first live lucha event be at the museum of latin american art; it was their first lucha event in ten years and felt like I really had an opportunity to honor the culture in that context.
