Thin Mint was my sweet angel and emotional support animal. I adopted her in the winter of 2012. When I saw Thin Mint’s photo on the shelter’s website, I knew I had found the piece of my soul that I didn’t realize was missing. She blessed me with her love and presence, showing me that there’s something good in me and beautiful in my soul that I deserved to see. She was always so thoughtful and sensitive; she would remind me to take breaks, be gentle to myself, and practice self-care. Even when she was in pain in her last moments, she kept purring as if to reassure me that I did everything in my power to give her an incredible life.
Thin Mint passed away in my arms on October 30, 2020 from kidney cancer. Her soul entered my heart, where it will live on eternally. When I said “forever home,” sweet Thin Mint, I meant it.
Thin Mint had feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV), the cat equivalent of HIV. Both black cats and disabled cats have lower adoption rates. Someone knew that, saw how much Thin Mint deserved a forever home, and sponsored her adoption fee, which I wouldn’t have been able to afford otherwise.
The Thin Mint Angel Fund sponsors adoption fees for cats with FIV and feline leukemia virus (FeLV). You can donate to the fund using the button below. For assistance with an adoption fee, please email me at [email protected] and let me know a bit about yourself and the cat you’d like to adopt.
