Lots has been going on recently!
My review of All the Birds in the Sky by Charlie Jane Anders is now available in the April 2016 issue of The Cascadia Subduction Zone. Print issues are $5 each; electronic issues are $3 each.
My review of Jennifer’s Journal: The Life of a SubUrban Girl, Vol. 1 by Jennifer Cruté in the October 2015 issue of The Cascadia Subduction Zone is now free to read online. Look for it on page 18!
I’ve sold my flash fiction piece “Th Fifth Lttr” to Daily Science Fiction! This piece is written in first person plural past tense without the letter E—it was a fun challenge.
I’ve also sold my flash fiction piece “Someone’s Checking You Out Right Now!” to Mad Scientist Journal‘s anthology Fitting In: Historical Accounts of Paranormal Subcultures, scheduled for release in September. This piece is in the style of an OKCupid profile, written from the point of view of a lonely jiangshi. The table of contents for the anthology has just been released; the titles of all the stories look super exciting!
And finally, I’ve sold my poem “肉骨茶 (Meat Bone Tea)” to Uncanny, one of my absolute favorite magazines! I’m so excited; this poem is about friendship and food and is written in the style of Chinese classical poetry, albeit without a translation of the prosodic constraints. That experiment is for another day 😄
I’m so thankful for all this great news. 💖 I have a lot more submissions still out, so here’s to hoping I’ll have more updates soon. 😊
